Why This Reference Exists
Old printed directories can link a Flint household to an address and year. Current property, court, voting, and vital-record systems are organized for different public functions. Genesee County’s 1970-forward digitized land-document access is useful, but older scanned books and library collections often need a different search method. The purpose here is to make those limits visible before a reader spends time in the wrong source.
What the Directory Points To
- Address research: parcel, map, deed, and municipal request routes through the By Street page.
- Historical research: Flint printed directories, yearbooks, obituaries, maps, and archives through City Directories.
- Name verification: official property, court, vital-record, and state tools through Resident Lookup.
- Access limits: Michigan FOIA, record eligibility, court exclusions, and address confidentiality information.
Limits of Our Role
This is a privately run reference, not part of Genesee County, the City of Flint, the State of Michigan, a court, or a library. Only the record custodian can certify, correct, release, or explain an official record. The information here cannot confirm someone’s present residence, settle a legal dispute, or guarantee that a live portal, fee, or coverage range has not changed.
- We do not host county property cards, court files, directories, or vital certificates.
- We cannot obtain a copy or file a request for a visitor.
- We cannot add, remove, or correct a name in a government record.
- We do not provide legal advice or identity verification.
- We direct record questions to the appropriate custodian.
